The youth wing of FTS Bangalore chapter had a Van Yatra to an Ekal School near Mysore during the month of November 2006. Ms. Jyoti Jain has been kind enough to allow me to post some of the photos she took during the yatra.
Ekal Vidya Schools
: It costs just 15,000 Rupees a year to run one Ekal School which provides basic education and health and hygiene to about 50 children. In most schools girls outnumber boys.
The Ekal Vidyalaya Bangalore chapter has more then 120 members. These members together sponsor and look after more than 800 schools in the state of Karnataka, India.
Each school on an average has about 30 students.
Regular visits to these schools are arranged on the third week of every month.
